The Alexander Technique is a system of mindfulness that takes advantage of our innate ability to sense in our bodies and minds. Through educational touch and verbal instruction, individuals re-discover how to move, sit, stand and be with just the right amount of postural tone instead of the excessive amount of muscular tension that most of us use for daily living. 

As you learn the Alexander Technique, your sensory register becomes more accurate through the hands-on, active experience of the Technique in your lessons or classes. This means you will be able to accurately sense when you are losing your fundamental balance and coordination, and take conscious steps to return to balance. This is in stark contrast to what typically happens: you find yourself in a state of imbalance but the only way you know to correct it is to try harder. The Alexander Technique gives you a clean neuromuscular slate upon which you can exist efficiently, in balance, and with ease.
